Confirm Totals

To close the sales for a particular month and generate a sales report, you must start from the Yearly Summary screen for the dealership with which you are working.

  1. From the Yearly Summary screen, click the edit link for the month of the new sales.
  2. Click Confirm Totals.
  3. On the Confirm Totals screen, verify the Breakdown of Sales and Breakdown of Sales Amounts.
  4. If these are correct, click Close Report.
  5. The Inventory Tax Statement, Form 50-246 or similar form appears on your screen. Scroll down to verify that all of the information is correct. You may need to enter a TPWD Dealer's and Manufacturer's Number.
  6. If you are ready to generate a sales report for that month, click Submit and Pay. (For some tax offices and dealers, the button will read 'Submit this form to the tax office'.) If not, click Go Back.
  7. If you finalized the month, an email will be sent to the email address given to the tax office when your user account was created.
  8. From here you can either click Go to Cart at the top of the sales report screen to make a payment online (this option is not available for all tax offices), click Print to print the form, or click Go Back to continue working in the SIT Portal and/or to print the sales report from the next screen (see below) and mail it to the Tax Office along with your payment.
  9. Go to Cart: to continue paying online, click here for instructions. The amount due may have been added to the cart automatically, depending on your tax office's preferences.
  10. Print: prints the form
  11. Go Back: returns you to the breakdown of sales information (the Confirm Totals screen).
  12. Click View Form if you want to see the sales report.
  13. You may need to click the Click Here link to produce the pdf version of the sales report. This can be printed and mailed to the Tax Office with your payment if you do not wish to pay online.
  14. To return to the list of sales for the dealership/month, click Individual Sales.
  15. From the Sales screen (the list of individual sales), click Yearly Summary to continue working with the same dealer. You can also either click Dealerships to work with a different dealer or click Logout to leave the SIT Portal.
  16. If you clicked Yearly Summary, the Finalized column will have a green check mark for the month you just closed. (Some tax offices require payment to be made before a month can be finalized.) You can click View to see the individual sales but you will not be able to change or add new sales.
