Use the Online Payment program to take a Hotel Occupancy Tax payment for a SIT account.
Select Online Payment on either the Main Menu or the Go To list.
In the Deposit Control screen, open or re-open an online deposit.
Note: Make sure the Deposit Type is Hotel Occupancy Tax.
Click Payment Transaction; the Payment Entry screen will appear. The Deposit No, Deposit Date and Operator ID fields are auto-filled at the top of the screen.
If you are carrying an account number from another screen it will appear in the Account No field. If not, then enter a number in the space provided. If you would like a different number, highlight the current number and key in the new one.
Note: If you do not know the account number, select Account Search in the Go To list. For more information, see Searching for an Account. Write down or copy the account number, then enter it into the Online Payment screen.
Press Tab; the Certified Owner name and Monthly Rate fields will auto-fill.
The cursor is now in the Receipt Date field. Change the Receipt Date (which defaults to the date entered when you opened the deposit) and Year if necessary
Select the month (Pay Period drop-down list) to which you want to post the payment.
Enter the Sales Amount.
Press Tab. The Total Due, Payment Amount, Apply Amount, Levy Due, Penalty, Escrow, NSF Due and Due Date will be generated by the system.
If this is a payment by check, enter the check number in the Remit ID field.
In the Remit Type field, select one of the drop-down list choices: Check or Cash
If necessary, change the Payment Amount (total amount of the check or cash tendered) and/or the Applying Amount (amount to be applied toward the Amount Due).
Fill in the optional fields as shown below:

If someone other than the Certified Owner is making the payment, enter the Alternate Payer name. Important: The name must be entered correctly, otherwise a new record will be created. |

Click the Alt Owner checkbox to place a check there if the receipt needs to go to a different address for the owner. |
Escrow Only |
Click the Escrow Only checkbox to place a check there if the payment is for escrow only (a payment for a future month). |
Click Apply to process and save the payment; a receipt and, if necessary, shortage or late letters are generated for the payment.
Note: The screen clears and information from this payment appears at the bottom of the screen. The next account can now be entered.
