Welcome to Appraisal & Collection Technologies (ACT). We offer a total tax collection system that includes payment processing, a comprehensive audit package, and extensive reporting capabilities.
This Release 7 Online help provides detailed information about the ACT tax collection system. In it you will find step-by-step instructions for all of the tasks that you perform on a regular basis.
This help system consists of three sections: Table of Contents, Index, and Search. Each of these is located on the left portion of the window, and can be selected by clicking on the appropriate tab.
Each set of instructions is called a topic. They can be located as follows:
Click the Contents tab.
Click on a book (
), then click
on the desired topic (
). The
instructions for that topic will appear in the right side of the Help
window.
If the topic does not answer your question, click on the Related Topic button at the top right and select another topic. Hopefully, that one will answer your question.
Click the Search tab.
In the box at the top, type in a word or phrase for which you want to search.
Press Enter. This feature is more powerful than the Index because all topics containing the word or phrase you entered will be listed in the lower left side of the window.
If more than one topic matches your word or phrase, a popup list will appear. Click on a topic from the list to see the instructions on the right portion of the window.
The Show/Hide button at the top right of the ACT 7 Help screens allows you to show or hide the Table of Contents on the left side of the screen. The button will read either 'Show' or 'Hide', not both at once.
To hide the Table of Contents, click Hide.
To re-display the Table of Contents, click Show.
